Swiss Post in Shopify

Let shoppers in Switzerland pick a Swiss Post pickup point in the checkout, and book Swiss Post labels through vShip.

Swiss Post is the carrier shoppers in Switzerland know. With Pakkeshopper, a Swiss Post shipping method shows Swiss Post pickup points in your Shopify checkout, and labels are booked through vShip.

What you get with Swiss Post in Pakkeshopper

  • Pickup points in the checkout. The customer picks a Swiss Post pickup point from a list or a map, with distance and opening hours. Read more about pickup points.
  • Home delivery. Offer Swiss Post home delivery as a separate shipping method with its own price and rules.
  • Labels through vShip. Map the Swiss Post shipping method to a vShip shipping profile, and Pakkeshopper books the label through vShip. You need a vShip account. See label printing.

Tracking and return labels are not available for Swiss Post. Pakkeshopper tracks parcels with GLS, PostNord, Bring, DAO, DHL and PostNL.

The Shopify order confirmation page shows the Swiss Post logo and the chosen pickup point with address and opening hours, in 9 languages.

Shipping rules that fit Swiss Post

Pakkeshopper shows or hides a shipping method based on rules. These fit a Swiss Post setup well:

  • Destination country. Show the method only to addresses in Switzerland.
  • Weight and order value. Offer pickup point delivery under a weight limit, or free shipping above an order value. Discount codes are deducted before the free shipping threshold applies.
  • Products and customers. Hide the method for products with a certain tag, or show a special rate to customers with a tag.
  • Quantity-based prices. Multiply a price by the number of qualifying items, with an optional cap.

Address validation checks for a house number before the customer can pay. This avoids penalty fees from the carrier.

Swiss Post in your order data

Pakkeshopper writes the carrier, delivery type and pickup point to Shopify order attributes named _pakkeshopper_* and to the shipping line code. Orders flow on to Shipmondo, Peak WMS, Traede, Ongoing, Lagersystem.dk, SmartPack and vShip. The developer guide describes the fields.

Which plan do you need?

Swiss Post is included from the Pro plan (19 USD per month for 500 orders, then 0.02 USD per extra order). Label printing through vShip needs Pro or higher and a vShip account. Compare plans under pricing.
