Burd in Shopify

Offer Burd evening home delivery to your Danish customers in the Shopify checkout, with address validation and labels booked through vShip.

Burd delivers parcels to the customer's door in the evening in Denmark. With Pakkeshopper, you add Burd as a home delivery method in your Shopify checkout and control exactly when it shows.

What you get with Burd in Pakkeshopper

  • Evening home delivery in the checkout. Add a Burd shipping method with your own price, and place it anywhere in the checkout list.
  • Address validation. Pakkeshopper checks that the address has a house number and blocks the checkout until the customer corrects it. That avoids carrier penalty fees for bad addresses. Read more about address validation.
  • Correct rates for Apple Pay and Google Pay. The Burd rate is calculated from country and zip code alone, so express checkouts get the right price.
  • Labels through vShip. Map the Burd shipping method to a vShip shipping profile, and Pakkeshopper books the label through vShip when you print from an order or in bulk. Mark the order as fulfilled in the same step, and Print Agent can print the label on your label printer the moment it is created.
  • The carrier on the order. Pakkeshopper writes the carrier and the delivery type to the _pakkeshopper_* order attributes and to the shipping line code, so your warehouse system knows the parcel goes with Burd.

Burd has no pickup points or parcel lockers in Pakkeshopper, and Pakkeshopper does not track Burd parcels. Return labels are available for GLS, Bring, DAO and PostNord, not for Burd.

Shipping rules for Burd methods

Home delivery often has its own price and its own limits. In the shipping method editor you can:

  • Show the Burd method only in the zip codes you serve, with one-click presets for the Danish islands, bridged and non-bridged.
  • Show or hide the method by weight and order value.
  • Hide the method for products that do not fit, with product tags or product groups.
  • Use quantity-based prices that multiply the price by the number of qualifying items, with an optional cap.

Discount codes are deducted from the order value before a free-shipping threshold is applied, so a customer does not get free shipping below the threshold. Read more about shipping rules.

Which plan do you need

Burd is available on the Pro plan and higher. Pro costs $19 per month for 500 orders, then $0.02 per extra order, and includes all carriers and label printing. The zip code filter and the product and customer tag filters are part of Max ($49 per month for 2,000 orders).

Your store also needs Shopify's Carrier Calculated Rates feature. Read how to get it in the Carrier Calculated Rates guide.

How to get started

  1. 1

Install Pakkeshopper and turn on Carrier Calculated Rates

Install Pakkeshopper from the Shopify App Store. Ask Shopify support to add Carrier Calculated Rates (third-party calculated shipping rates) to your store if you do not have it yet.

  2. 2

Add a shipping method with Burd

Create a shipping method in the Pakkeshopper dashboard, choose Burd as the carrier and set the price. Add rules for zip codes, weight or order value, and map the method to a vShip shipping profile for labels.

  3. 3

    Test the checkout

Place a test order with a Danish address and check that the Burd method shows with the right price. Shopify caches shipping rates for up to 24 hours, so change the house number or the cart contents to get fresh rates.
