Shopify's own shipping rates can filter on weight and price, but not on products, customers or zip codes. Pakkeshopper gives you shipping rules that match how your store really ships.
The problem: one rate does not fit every order
A pallet needs a different carrier than a T-shirt. Bornholm costs more than Zealand. A B2B customer has other terms than a private shopper. With plain Shopify rates you end up with workarounds: extra shipping profiles, manual invoices or a flat rate that is wrong for half of your orders.
Rules you can set on each shipping method
Each shipping method in Pakkeshopper has its own filters. The method is only shown when every rule matches the cart.
- Weight: show the method between a minimum and a maximum weight.
- Order value: set a free shipping threshold, or hide an expensive method on large orders. Discount codes are deducted before the threshold is checked.
- Products: filter on product tags, or build product groups of specific variants and show or hide the method when the cart contains items from a group.
- Customers: filter on customer tags, for example 'b2b' or 'vip'.
- Zip codes: show the method for a list of zip codes. One-click presets add the Danish islands, split into bridged and non-bridged, so an island surcharge is set up in seconds.
- Country: each method belongs to a destination country.
Quantity-based prices
Multiply the price by the number of qualifying items in the cart. You choose which product tags count and can cap the number of items. This fits bulky items that ship one per parcel.
Placement in the checkout list
Move a method up or down in the checkout list with arrows, also against other pinned methods. The editor shows where the method appears for buyers in a country, and the shipping methods list shows the same order as your checkout.
Several locations, one price
If you ship from several locations, Shopify would show the shipping price once per location. Pakkeshopper shows it once. You choose the wording: 'Ships in 2 parcels', a generic text or no text at all.
Keep many methods under control
- Duplicate a method with one click instead of building it again.
- Export all methods and rates as a CSV file for an audit or a spreadsheet review.
- Search, filter and sort the shipping methods list.
- The dashboard warns about duplicate methods and missing product tags before they cause surprises in the checkout.
- Ask the AI assistant why a rate does not show, or let it create a method with a preview.
How to set it up
- Open the shipping method editor in the Pakkeshopper dashboard. Create a new method or duplicate one.
- Pick the carrier and the delivery type, for example home delivery or pickup points.
- Add the filters: weight, order value, products, customers or zip codes.
- Set the price, or turn on quantity-based prices.
- Save and test the checkout. Shopify caches shipping rates for up to 24 hours, so change the house number or the cart contents to get fresh rates.
Your store needs the Carrier Calculated Rates feature from Shopify. Read how to get it in the Carrier Calculated Rates guide.
