Most stores learn about a lost parcel when the customer writes to ask where it is. By then the parcel has been stuck at a depot for a week, or it has waited at a pickup point and is on its way back. Pakkeshopper shows you these parcels before the customer asks.
Which carriers are tracked
Pakkeshopper tracks shipments with GLS, PostNord, Bring, DAO, DHL and PostNL. Posti and DPD run on Bring's and PostNord's networks, so those parcels are tracked too. Tracking starts when a label is created, for example with label printing in Pakkeshopper, and follows the parcel to the carrier's last update.
The attention list
The tracking page in the dashboard shows just the shipments that need you:
- Stuck in transit: the parcel has not moved at the carrier for days.
- Uncollected: the parcel waits at a pickup point and the customer has not picked it up.
- On the way back: the carrier is returning the parcel to you.
Filter the list by category, carrier or country. Search by order number or tracking number. Export the list as a CSV for your customer service team. Click any shipment to see its full timeline, from label creation through every carrier scan to the last update.
Numbers you can act on
The tracking dashboard also shows how your carriers perform:
- Delivery rate and first-attempt success
- Median transit time
- Median handover time: from label created until the carrier's first scan, so you spot a slow handover from your warehouse
- Exceptions and returns
- A scorecard per carrier
Compare GLS with DHL or PostNord on the same numbers, and see where parcels get into trouble.
Alerts with Shopify Flow
Pakkeshopper adds three triggers to Shopify Flow:
- Transit issue detected: the parcel has been stuck with the carrier for more than 4 days.
- Parcel left uncollected: the parcel has waited at a pickup point for 4 days.
- Parcel returned: the parcel is on its way back to you.
Build a workflow on each trigger to e-mail the customer, tag the order or alert your team in the tool you use. You act while the parcel is still at the pickup point, not after it comes back.
Analytics on Max and Enterprise
Analytics puts the delivery data in one place:
- An order journey timeline: fulfilment, carrier handover and transit, per carrier and against the platform average.
- Reliability per carrier: first-attempt rate, exceptions, returns and stuck parcels.
- A destination leaderboard with a country by carrier matrix, which recommends the best carrier per destination.
Fresh and accurate data
Active shipments refresh every 4 hours. Carriers sometimes give a tracking number out again. Pakkeshopper keeps only the events that belong to your parcel, so a new shipment does not show as delivered or returned because of an older parcel with the same number.
How to set it up
- Open Tracking in the Pakkeshopper dashboard. Shipments appear as labels are created.
- Use the filters to narrow the attention list to one carrier or country.
- In Shopify Flow, create a workflow and pick one of the three Pakkeshopper triggers.
- Open Analytics for the order journey timeline and the carrier comparison.
Which plan you need
The tracking dashboard is on Max and Enterprise. Max costs $49 per month for 2,000 orders, with no commitment. Enterprise has unlimited orders, an SLA and a single point of contact.
