Pakkeshopper "the App" provides custom shipping rates "the Service" to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

  • Read your contact information
  • Read and write shipping rates
  • Read customer data
  • Read order data
  • Read product data

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and to operate the App.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We will share your customers delivery address with the transport companies you choose inside the app. We need to do this in order to list pickup points to where they want the products shipped to. The transport companies are:

  • General Logistics Systems B.V. (GLS)
  • PostNord AB
  • Dansk Avis Omdeling A/S (DAO)
  • Posten Norge AS (Bring)
  • United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS)
  • Deutsche Post AG (DHL)
  • Instabee Group AB (Budbee, Instabox)
  • Burd Delivery ApS
  • Helthjem Netthandel AS
  • Hermes Germany GmbH

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Pakkeshopper app for iPhone

The Pakkeshopper app for iPhone is a companion app for merchants and their warehouse staff. They use it to see the unfulfilled orders of their shop, to pick and pack orders, to scan barcodes, to print shipping labels and to mark orders as fulfilled. The app is for business use. It has no user accounts of its own. A device is paired with a shop, and the shop admin approves each device.

Information the app handles

  • Shop address. The .myshopify.com address of the shop that the device is paired with.
  • Device information. A device name, for example "iPhone", and a random device identifier that we create when the device is paired. We do not read the advertising identifier, the device serial number, contacts, photos, or location.
  • Device token. A random secret that proves that the device is paired. The app stores it in the iOS Keychain on the device. Our server stores only a hash of it.
  • Order information of the merchant's shop. Order number, customer name, company, delivery address, phone number, the ordered items, order value, shipping method and tracking number. The app shows this information so that staff can pack and ship the order. It comes from the merchant's Shopify store through the Pakkeshopper service.
  • Activity records. Our server records some actions of a device together with the shop, the device identifier, the order and the time. Today these actions are a reprint of a label and a correction of a product location. We use the records as an audit history and to find errors.
  • Pick progress. The orders and items of a pick session are stored on our server together with the device identifier, so that a session can continue after the app restarts.
  • Device settings. The choices on the Settings screen of the app, for example whether a print captures the payment.

Camera

The app uses the camera only to read barcodes and QR codes: the pairing QR code, and barcodes on orders, products, shelves and bins. The app reads the code on the device. It does not save or send photos or video. Only the text in the code is used, for example to look up an order.

Local network

The app searches the local WiFi network for printers and sends print data directly to the printer that the user selects. The list of printers (name, model, IP address) is stored only on the device. It is not sent to our servers. A label that is being printed is kept as a temporary file on the device. The next print replaces it.

Sign-in with Shopify

To pair a device, the shop admin signs in to Shopify in a secure browser sheet of iOS. The app cannot see the Shopify password.

What the app does not do

  • The app does not show advertising and does not track you across apps or websites.
  • The app does not contain analytics or advertising SDKs from third parties.
  • We do not sell personal information.
  • The app does not handle payment card data. When a print captures a payment, Shopify does the capture for the merchant.

How we use the information

We use the information only to provide the Service: to show the correct orders to the correct shop, to create and print shipping labels, to update orders in Shopify, and to keep the audit history.

Sharing

The transport companies that are listed in the section "Sharing Your Personal Information" receive the delivery information that is necessary to create a shipping label. Shopify receives the fulfillment and payment-capture updates for the merchant's own store.

Retention and deletion

"Unpair" on the Settings screen of the app removes the device token from the device and revokes the device on our server. The shop admin can also remove a device in the Pakkeshopper dashboard under Fulfillment. Order information follows the rules of this policy and the Shopify data-protection requests (customer redact, shop redact).

We store information for a maximum of 90 days after its last update.

Roles

For the order and customer information of a shop, the merchant is the data controller and Shoptigrator ApS is the data processor. For the pairing and device information, Shoptigrator ApS is the data controller.

Children

The app is a business tool and is not directed at children.
